Hi, I am Eman. I am completing my Master's in Peace Mediation and Conflict Research at Åbo Akademi University, and I used to teach international relations as an Assistant Professor. For the last few years I have also facilitated youth workshops in Helsinki on intercultural dialogue, which is a long way of saying I am happy on the floor with crayons, patient with the hundredth "why", and naturally calm when a meltdown rolls in. My babysitting superpowers: Calm under chaos. Years of leading tricky group conversations means a toddler tantrum does not rattle me. I get down to eye level, slow my voice, and stay present. Playful and curious. I love narrating the day, making up silly songs, building forts from sofa cushions, and turning a walk to the playground into a small adventure. Multilingual. English (fluent), Urdu. I can stick to one language if you prefer, or sprinkle in a few words from another to keep little ears curious. Hands on cooking. I can prepare simple, healthy meals and snacks, both Asian and Western, with safe knife handling and food hygiene already part of my routine. What a typical day with me looks like: floor play and pretend games, picture books and storytelling, music time with shakers and pots, baking simple treats, building forts out of boxes, outside time when the weather is kind, and a calm wind down with stories before nap. What I bring: patience, presence, a soft voice, a real smile, and a household trained sense of cleaning up as we go. I treat your child like I would a younger member of my own family.
